A Russian 88 gilt Silver statue of the Russian Emperor Peter The Great, which is a miniature copy of the equestrian statue of Peter the Great in the Senate Square in Saint Petersburg, Russia that was opened to the public in 1782, commissioned by Catherine the Great and created by the French sculptor Etienne Maurice Falconet. The statue depicts the First Emperor of Russia on a rearing steed trampling a serpent representing treachery and evil. Mounted on a hand carved Malachite base.
