Color woodblock print on paper by Katsushika Hokusai, 1760 to 1849, a Japanese ukiyo-e printmaker of the late Edo period. From the Realistic Mirror of Poets series based on well-known Chinese and Japanese poems. Titled Shonenko, Youthful Progress. The artwork is an illustration for a poem by Cui Guofu, a Chinese Tang dyansty poet. It depicts a young man riding along a river bank, using a willow branch as a whip. Hieroglyphically titled in the upper left and signed in the lower right. White mat, golden bamboo-style frame. Collectible Oriental Graphic Art For Interior Decor.
