The Bouquet of Flowers is formally known as the Bouquet of Peace. It has other derivatives like Hands with Flowers, Flowers and Hands, and Hands with Bouquet, among others. The color painting consists of two hands holding blue, yellow, red, and orange flower stalks. Picasso hand signed his name and date, 21.4.58, with a pencil on the piece at the right and bottom corner. Picasso created the Bouquet of Peace in July 1958 to commemorate the peace demonstration held in Stockholm, Sweden. The original was a watercolor lithograph printed by Schuster, Paris. This painting is made up of four large flowers and three smaller ones. Picasso used oval shapes to depict the center of the big flowers. Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker, ceramicist and theatre designer who spent most of his adult life in France. Regarded as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, he is known for co founding the Cubist movement, the invention of constructed sculpture, the co invention of collage, and for the wide variety of styles that he helped develop and explore.
