An antique Meissen glazed porcelain bowl with a pair of handles. The bowl is made in the shape of a fruit basket and adorned with a wicker design and gilding. The handles are adorned with figural male and female head shaped mask made in the Sicilian, Italian manner. The men and a women in fruit crowns are the characters of traditional Sicilian Moresca pantomime dance that originated during the late Renaissance period. The interior is adorned with floral and foliage motifs. marked with a blue ink factory mark on the bottom. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century.
