An antique American Civil War era model 1850 non-regulation foot officers sword featuring a slightly curved iron blade with a panel etched with scrollwork, a US and spread eagle with E Pluribus Unum riband. Holds a Solingen mark to the ricasso with a brass Proved disc. The steel hilt is of British form with a shagreen and copper wire-wrapped grip. Comes with an iron two-ring scabbard.
