Michel Claude Clodion, French, 1738 to 1814, terracotta sculpture. The sculpture depicts a Bacchanalia scene with satyrs feeding, a standing female holding grapes, and a cherub. Mounted on a round shaped base. Signed with engraving on the base. Circa: late 19th century. Michel Clodion is known for Allegorical terra cotta figure sculpture. Claude Michel, known as Clodion, was a French sculptor in the Rococo style, especially noted for his works in terracotta.
