A 1940s Nazi German military helmet, known as the Stahlhelm. A steel helmet intended to provide protection against shrapnel and fragments of grenades. Distinctive coal scuttle shape, matte khaki colour. A shield with swastika on the left side, an SS emblem on the right side. Marked 64 on the inside. Marked Size 56 on the leather lining. The Schutzstaffel, or SS was a major paramilitary organization under Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party in Nazi Germany. World War II WW2 Historical Collectables, Military Uniform.
