Alexander Gore, American, Russian, born 1958, oil painting on masonite depicting abstract portraits, 1990. Signed and dated lower right. Probably, inscribed lower left. Matted. A paper label showing a biography of the artist, on the backside. Alexander Gore was born in St. Petersburg, Russia and has studied in Italy, Germany and Central America. In 1980, Alexander immigrated to New York City, continuing his search for an arena where he could attain full artistic expression. He traveled for many months in Central America, exploring the primitive beginnings of man, art and life. The tribal culture of the local people is visible in Alexanders current works. After ten years of painting in New York, Alexander moved to Miami. The southern climate clarified the form of his works. The great contrast of the light and shade prompted to paint weightless forms unknown to nature. His style of are reflects a powerful surrealist influence and incorporates his many travel experiences. He paints abstract forms, weightless in time and space. He works in abstract and semi abstract forms, weightless in time and space. He now resides in Miami, Florida. One of a kind artwork.
