An antique Russian Orthodox hand painted icon of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker. Saint Nicholas has depicted frontally half figured wearing special clothes, blessing with his right hand and holding Bible with his left one. Palex school style. A mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on wood panel. Inscribed lower to the center. The icon is overlaid with a chased metal, probably gilt silver, oklad or riza.
