An antique Chinese Late Ming Dynasty bronze incense burner. The incense burner is made in the form of a goose. The wings of the goose are also the lid of the incense holder. The feathers are done with great naturalism. Circa: late 19th century. The design for this kind of items can be traced back to the late Ming Dynasty, a period in which nature inspired pieces gained popularity, especially after Emperor Wan Li era. Some of these bronze wares were amply reproduced well into the end of the Qing Dynasty in the early 20th Century.
