Jacques Lipchitz, Lithuanian, French, 1891 to 1973, a mid century abstract bronze sculpture, Variation on the Theme of Hagar. Signed to the base and raised on a green marble pedestal. Circa 1948. Jacques Lipchitz was a French Cubist sculptor. Lipchitz retained highly figurative and legible components in his work leading up to 1915–16, after which naturalist and descriptive elements were muted, dominated by a synthetic style of Crystal Cubism.
