A French Impressionist oil on canvas painting depicting a landscape with trees around the pond by Jean-Baptiste Armand Guillaumin, French, 1841 to 1927. Signed by the artist lower right. Housed in a richly decorated gilt wood and gesso frame. Please refer to the Brook Street Gallery paper label attached to the backside. A French Impressionist painter, Jean-Baptiste Armand Guillaumin studied art in Paris at the Academie Suisse in 1861. There he met and became lifelong friends with his fellow students, Paul Cezanne and Camille Pissarro. Guillaumin exhibited at the Salon des Refuse and at most of the Impressionist exhibitions.
