Eduard Veith, Austrian, 1856 to 1925, three mixed media, pencil and watercolor, sketch paintings on paper. The first depicts two children on the front and a scene with children sitting an a forest landscape on the backside, signed lower to the center and lower right. The second is titled, Long Waiting, and depicts a genre scene with a waiting family, signed lower right. Eduard Veith is known for Portrait, frescoes, and historical painting. Eduard Veith was born in Vienna, where he attended the art school and was a pupil of Ferdinand Laufberger. He continued his education in Paris. Veith created primarily frescoes, theater curtains as well as mythological and historical paintings. He received commissions for the National Theatre, the Diana Baths and the Ronacher in Vienna, as well as the Metropoltheater in Berlin and the German Theatre in Prague. He was also appreciated for his fine portraits of women in typical Art Nouveau style. One of a kind artwork.
