An antique Chinese hand carved from Shoushan stone figural group. The group depicts a smiling teacher and a student boy. Presented on a hand carved lacquered wooden stand with legs. Circa: early 20th century. Shoushan stone carving is an art originating in Fujian Province in East China. The stones used in carving are also known as agalmatolite and are mined in the Shoushan village in northern Fujian.
