A highly collectible French mantel clock made of gilded bronze and porcelain and dated circa 1880. This clock is made according to the model of Charles Nicolas Dutertre, François Vion and the Sevres manufactory for the bedroom of Marie Antoinette. The clock features a finely detailed statuette of Venus embracing a miniature enamel portrait of Marie Antoinette resting on a blue and white porcelain column. Raised on an oval base decorated with a frieze of laurel branches and rose flowers. The white enamel dial is marked: Balthazar Horloger Du Roi.
