An antique Japanese Taisho Era gilt bronze and enamel trinket or jewelry box. The exterior of the box is enameled with floral and foliage patterns, and an image of a garden on the top of the lid in white, blue, orange, yellow, green, red, purple, pink, and light blue shades made in the Cloisonne technique. The gilt wash interior of the box is adorned with etched images of a rural view, a mountain sea scape with ships. The box is mounted on four legs. Circa: 1910s to 1920s.
