An antique 19th-century Russian Orthodox icon representing Saint Nicholas of Myra, one of the most celebrated saints of the Orhodox church, with Jesus Christ to the left and Mother of God to the right. Mixed media painting: egg tempera, gesso, and levkas on a wood board. The icon is enclosed in a gilt silver riza or oklad, a protecting case with repousse work. Golden wooden frame.
