Lot 0192: ANTIQUE NEO CLASSICAL GILT AND RED PORCELAIN LID

An antique 19th-century hand-painted porcelain dish lid in Neo Classical style. The crimson red round lid has a conical central part that is topped by a figurative knob. The piece is richly decorated with gilt floral ornaments and two polychrome medallions representing multifigure scenes. The motifs of the medallions are indicated on the backside, handwritten inscriptions in German: Hectors Abshied von Andromache, Farewell of Hector and Andromache, and Psyche vor Gericht, Psyche Before the Court.
