An original Russian letter from Pyotr Wrangel to Alexander Lodyzhensky. Dated March 15, 1922 in the upper left. Sent from Belgrad. The letter is typewritten in pre-reform spelling. The letter says that Wrangel is going to Sremski Karlovci and then to Bulgaria to inspect the army. Hand-signed underneath. Pyotr Wrangel, also known as Peter von Wrangel, 1878-1928, was a Lieutenant General of the Imperial Russian army. During the later stages of the Russian Civil War, he was commanding the anti-Bolshevik White Army in Southern Russia.
