A watercolor on paper painting most likely depicting a fantasian view of The Alhambra of Granada during Nazaries Caliphate before the Christian Reconquista of Spain. The painting shows elements of Islamic architecture that are now destroyed or rebuilt, such as a white muslim alminar for a mosque instead of the Church of Santa Maria De Alhambra. At the foot of the hill there is depicted a massive stone bridge with four semicircular arches, along which marches an army under waving banners. Handwritten monogram HF in the lower left. Handwritten signature Harry Fenn on the backside. Harry Fenn, 1837 to 1911, was an English-born American illustrator best known for the landscape engravings published by New Yorks D. Appleton and Co. as the Picturesque series. Golden frame. Collectible Antique American Landscape Graphic Art.
