An antique Dogon bowl made of wood comes from the region of Toro, at the extreme east of the Bandiagara cliff. The bowl stands on a decorated round base. The supporting legs of the pot are carved into three person faces. Vessels of this type were used in secondary burial rituals by the Dogon. The Dogon people are mainly located in the administrative districts of Bandiagara and Douentza in Mali, West Africa. Antique Ethnographic Artifacts and African Wood Art Collectibles.
