Georges Lavroff, 1895 to 1961, Art Deco bronze sculpture depicting a recumbent steenbok. On a rectangular base. Signed, stamped with the Marcel Guillemard foundry mark and numbered on the rear. Circa the 1920s. Georgi Dmitrievich Lavrov was a Russian sculptor. He first produced sculptures in Siberia, then later in Moscow. In 1927, Lavroff was sent to France where he created many Art Deco animal sculptures in bronze and ceramics. These sculptures brought him fame in the Western world.
