The wares are adorned with scenes from Cries of London and were originally painted by Francis Wheatley and engraved by A. Cardon. The necks and handles are adorned with tableware and foliage patterns in a brown shade. marked with a factory stamp on the bottom. Circa: late 19th century to early 20th century. The Cries of London was a recurring theme in English printmaking for over three centuries. These colorful prints form a visual record of Londons lower orders, the peddlers, charlatans, street hawkers, milkmaids, and grocers who made their living on the city streets.
