A vintage Chinese color print, a reproduction of a 1977 artwork titled Peaceful Liberation of Beiping by Deng Jiaju, Shen Yaoyi, Zhang Ruwei, and Guan Changjiang. Inscriptions in Chinese in the lower left and right. The Pingjin campaign, or the Liberation of Beijing and Tianjin was a part of the late stage of the Chinese Civil War against the Government of the Republic of China, from November 1948 till 1949. The war resulted in Communist victory and Mao Zedongs rise to power. Beiping is a name for Beijing that was used in the first half of the 20th century.
