Lot 0031: ANTIQUE AMERICAN SCHOOL PORTRAIT OF A JUDGE MAN

41 reviews

An antique American school portrait depicting a portrait of a judge man in a Fauvism style. Unsigned. Circa: early 20th century. Framed. Provenance: from the ex collection of Elton M. Hyder, Jr. A gold tone plate showing detailed information lower to the center of the frame. Fauvism, a style of painting that flourished in France around the turn of the 20th century. Fauve artists used pure, brilliant colour aggressively applied straight from the paint tubes to create a sense of an explosion on the canvas. One of a kind artwork.
