John Tallis, English, 1817 to 1876, antique hand colored steel engraved map with colored decorative border and five colored pictorial vignettes. Drawn and engraved by J. Rapkin, with the pictorial vignettes, inscribed, Tartars, Russian Peasants, Petra, Sun birds of India and the Philippine Isles, and Walruses, by J. Marchant and engraved by J.B. Allen. Titled in the plate upper to the center. Circa; 1850s. Matted and framed. John Tallis was an English cartographic publisher.
