Semenowsky was influenced by oriental subjects, a widespread phenomenon in French 19th century art. His favourite subjects were depictions of women in oriental and antique-style costumes and genre scenes. His works were very popular among Parisian bourgeoisie, and many of his works were purchased by American collectors. One of a kind artwork.
