An antique late 19th-century bronze mantel clock with a wind-up movement by Ansonia, an American clock company. The footed base is richly covered with relief baroque ornaments. It is topped by a figurine of Mercury, the Roman deity of luck. Mercury is presented sitting and resting his hand on the clock face. Round white dial with Roman numerals, inscription Manufactured by Ansonia Clock Co., New York, USA is in the lower part. Patented June 14, 1881. Collectible Antique Home Decor Items.
