A collection of mid-century Eastern European bookplates. The lot includes 39 ex libris prints, mostly by Polish and Hugarian, as well Swedish, English, Swiss artists such as Zbigniew Dolatowski, Sosza Janos, Kertes-Kollmann Jeno, Aldo Patocchi, Ragnvald Iversen. The bookplates are primarily woodcuts. Each print is hand-signed and dated on the front or on the backside. An Ex Libris, Latin for From the Library, is a printed or decorative label pasted into a book to indicate ownership. The design of the plate usually bears motifs related to the owner.
