Louis Lieven Theophile Clesse, Belgian, 1889 to 1961, an Impressionist oil on board painting depicting an autumn wetlands scene. Signed by the artist lower right. Housed in a richly decorated gilt wood and gesso frame from the original period. One of a kind artwork. Provenance: Capo Auction 06.27.2015, lot 72. Louis Lievin Theophile Clesse was a Belgian painter, watercolorist and etcher, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ixelles, best known for his landscapes and harbor scenes.
