Gerda Ploug Sarp, Danish, 1881 to 1968, ink and ink wash illustration painting on paper depicting an interior scene, Hans Christian Andersen To Jenny Lind in Berlin at Christmas, 1846. Signed and signed with a monogram, titled in Danish and dated lower right. Framed. Gerda Ploug Sarp was a Danish artist. She illustrated magazines, books and painted most of the contemporary celebrities. In 1915 she became a regular contributor to Berlingske Tidende and had her work in particular at Theater, where she painted scene sketch for performances and portraits of the artists for the newspaper. At the same time, she illustrated several of the great Danish contemporary novels. One of a kind artwork.
