The body is covered with bright cobalt blue guilloche enamel, the top of the hinged lid is covered with crimson guilloche enamel and features a relief gilt silver overlay depicting a Russian Imperial double headed eagle. Hallmarked on the bottom with 88 silver standard next to a female head in a kokoshnik turned to the right and other Russian hallmarks.
