A pair of antique English hand crafted wood side tables in the manner of Thomas Chippendale. The tables are adorned with a hand carved foliage pattern and the French scrolled legs that are typical for Chippendales Rococo furniture. Circa: early 20th century. Unmarked. Thomas Chippendale, British, 1718 to 1779, was a London cabinet maker and furniture designer in the mid Georgian, English Rocco, and Neoclassical styles. In 1754 he published a book of his designs, The Gentleman and Cabinet Makers Director. His superior designs were regarded as reflecting the current London fashion for furniture for that period and were widely copied by other cabinetmakers.
