Ink on paper drawing. A full-length portrait depicting a seated man. Signed Minas Avetisyan, Leningrad in the lower right. Inscription Supervisor B. Ioganson in the lower left. Marked 5- (A-) by M.F. in the lower left. Minas Avetisyan, 1928-1975, was a Soviet Armenian artist. From 1952 to 1954 Avetisyan studied at the Leningrad Institute of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture named after I.E. Repin, where one of his main teachers was Boris Ioganson, 1893-1973, who was one of the high-ranking Soviet Realist painters. This lot is Avetisyan's student sketch, positively evaluated by the teaching committee. Beige mat, wooden frame. Collectible Mid Century Russian Soviet Graphic Art.
