An antique 19th century American coin silver water pitcher by Jones, Ball and Poor, Boston, Massachusetts, circa 1846-1853. Of a traditional baluster form with an oblong spout, a twisted handle and raised on a round spreading foot. The body is decorated with skilfully hand chased and nielloed floral motifs surrounding inscriptions: C.M. Read; H.R. Burrough 1850; John A. Cross; Elizabeth Beckett Fogg, March 25 1988.
