He painted mostly in oils, depicting animals and rustic subjects, inspired by his time living in both Somerset and Scotland. He later settled in Haverstock Hill, London. Marshall exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1859 and 1880, and also at the British Institute. One of a kind artwork.
