Oil on board painting depicting scenes from the legend of Pocahontas. The artwork is divided in two parts. The left part, titled Pocahontas Brings Food And Furs in the upper left, depicts Pocahontas helping the English colonisers stave off a famine. The right part, titled As John Rolf's Bride She Sails For England in the lower right, represents Pocahontas' departure. Signed in the lower right. Golden frame. Collectible Americana, Mid Century Historical Figurative Art. Vera Beatrice Leeper, 1899 to 1969, American artist. She was a resident of Yorktown Heights and NYC before moving to Los Angeles circa 1940. She died there on June 27, 1969. Vera Leeper is known for Portrait paintings and historical murals.
