Lot 0111: JUDAICA INK PAINTING RABBI BY MOSHE BERNSTEIN

41 reviews

Moshe Bernstein, Israeli, Polish,1920 to 2006, Judaica ink and ink wash painting on paper depicting Rabbi studying a book. Signed lower right. Framed. Bernstein Moshe was an Israeli Polish artist, illustrator, poet. He met the artist Naftali Bezem and studied in his workshop. The print he created in his workshop was included in the album In Cypriot Exile. Bernsteins art focused mainly on documenting and memorializing Eastern European shtetls. He was an expressive artist with a surrealist symbolic bent by his own definition. However, his works dedicated to the vanished world were eventually recognized for their artistic value and importance. The main event in his work was a solo exhibition at the Paris Museum of Art and History of Judaism. One of a kind artwork.
