Complete two-volume set of The Original Water-Color Paintings by John James Audubon for the Birds of America, an album of color reproductions from the collection of the New-York Historical Society with introduction by Marshall B. Davidson, 1907-1989, American historian. Published in New York in 1966 by American Heritage Publishing Co., Inc. John James Audubon, 1785-1851, was an American self-trained artist and ornithologist. He was the author of a color-plate book titled The Birds of America, published in 1827–1839, that is considered one of the finest ornithological works ever completed.
