A very high quality Japanese Meiji period late 19th century bronze koro or incense burner cast in high and low relief with a motif depicting a flock of birds and leaves, very highly detailed and decorated with gilding. Mounted on three slightly curved legs which elegantly continuous the body of the censer. The cover is decorated with a relief bird final. Hieroglyphic signature underside.
