A Russian silver tabletop decoration made in the form of a toad with a body adorned with emerald green champleve enamel and with eyes set with ruby cabochon. Mounted on a rectangular silver and green nephrite base. Hallmarked on the base with 84 silver standard next to a female head in a kokoshnik turned to the left and other Russian hallmarks. Champleve is an enameling technique consisting of cutting away troughs or cells in a metal plate and filling the depressions with pulverized vitreous enamel.
