The lot includes a pair of lithographs by Felix Benoist, French, 1818 to 1896, from the collection Rome Dans Sa Grandeur. The first lithograph is titled Porte Flaminia depicting the current Porta del Popolo which crowns Piazza del Popolo in Rome and was originally called Porta Flaminia because the consular Via Flaminia, which in ancient times started much further south, from Porta Fontinalis, near the Altar of the Homeland. The second lithograph is titled Via del Corso E Palazzo Doria colla Corsa dei Barbieri nel tempo de Carnovale. Corsa dei barberi was a horse race and a popular festival in various cities, including Siena, Rome, Florence, Padua, Chieti, Pistoia (today joust of the bear ). And a vintage limited edition print Paris, Sacre Coeur, Montmartre by Jacques Chardon. Signed in print on the lower left, inscribed in pencil on the lower margin.
