Boris Israelewitsch Anisfeld, Russian Soviet, 1879 to 1973, oil painting on canvas depicting an abstract composition in a decorative lyrical expressionism manner. Signed lower right. Framed. Boris Anisfeld is a Russian Soviet and American painter, graphic artist, and theater set designer. The design of the performances of the Diaghilev enterprise, and after moving to America, the productions of the Metropolitan Opera, brought Anisfeld success in the theatrical field. He managed to acquire his unique painting style only after a trip with Sergei Diaghilev to Paris in 1906. Provenance: Anna Feltsman Estate. Feltsman family: Oscar Feltsman 1921-2013 was a Russian Ukrainian-born composer of Lithuanian Jewish descent. He was the father of Vladimir Feltsman, born in 1952 a Russian-American classical pianist. Anna Feltsman was the first wife of Vladimir Feltsman. Authenticated by Aleksander Borovskiy, Chef Curator and the head of the Contemporary Art Department of the State Russian Museum in St.Petersburg(Leningrad), since 1989. Confirm the authenticity of the painting by Boris Anisfeld,1878-1973, as well as his signature, the title is "Storm". It's a very impressive and expressive work, oil on canvas. This bright blue color he used in his autoportrait. A rare example of his expressionism, his versatility of Art is amazing.
