Robert Rafailovich Falk, Russian Soviet, French, 1886 to 1958, double-sided sketch paintings on paper. The first: is a pastel and charcoal painting on paper depicting a nude female portrait, signed with initials lower left. The second: is a pencil painting on paper depicting a nude female portrait. Framed. Robert Falk is a Soviet painter who uniquely combined the paths of Russian Modern and Avant-Garde in his artwork; one of the most famous artists of the Jewish theater in Yiddish. Provenance: Anna Feltsman Estate. Feltsman family: Oscar Feltsman 1921-2013 was a Russian Ukrainian-born composer of Lithuanian Jewish descent. He was the father of Vladimir Feltsman, born in 1952 a Russian-American classical pianist. Anna Feltsman was the first wife of Vladimir Feltsman. Authenticated by Aleksander Borovskiy, Chief Curator and the Head of the Contemporary Art Department of the State Russian Museum in St.Petersburg (Leningrad). Robert Falk 1896-1958 "Nude" as well confirm the authenticity of his signature. This sensual and impressive painting was created around 1910, his "Blue Period", name of the lady depicted is Isabel. This painting is a perfect example of his Artistry. Important that it has two sides, on the back side is a sketch of a sitting woman, the complicity of it makes this painting more valuable as well desirable. Lately, it was an extensive exhibition of Falk held in the Moscow Tretyakov Gallery, from 23rd December 2020 to May 23rd, 2021.
