An extremely rare museum quality Russian Rococo style table lamp from the early 19th-century. The lamp features a gilt bronze stand decorated with raised flowers, acanthus leaves, Rococo shells, and a delicate cream silk shade decorated with fringe. Later it was modified by adding a mechanical clockwork that allowed the upper part of the lamp to spin around. The mechanical key is hidden on the pedestal and for making it visible you need to lift it up. This is a beautiful example of the Russian bronze dore of the early 19th century. This piece most likely was a part of the curio cabinets of palace interiors, houses of the aristocracy.
