Percival Gaskell, British, 1868 to 1934, etching and drypoint on paper depicting a mountain sea scape. Signed in pencil lower right. Circa: 1920. Matted. George Percival Gaskell was born at Shipley in Yorkshire and educated in Cambridge. Percival Gaskell studied with renowned printmaker Sir Frank Short at the Royal College of Art, London, and in Paris and Italy. He was the esteemed Headmaster of the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art in London for over 30 years. A true painter-printmaker, his work exhibits a heartfelt sensitivity to atmospheric tone and light, conveying a sense of timeless beauty. Graphic Art Prints and Collectibles.
