George Percival Gaskell was born at Shipley in Yorkshire and educated in Cambridge. Percival Gaskell studied with renowned printmaker Sir Frank Short at the Royal College of Art, London, and in Paris and Italy. He was the esteemed Headmaster of the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art in London for over 30 years.
