William Turner, 1775-1851, English Romantic painter, printmaker, and watercolorist. A very rare first edition complete set of art albums titled Turner's Water-Colours at Farnley Hall, published by The Studio, n.d. in 1912. Text by Alex J. Finberg, 1866-1939, British art historian. Six volumes, softcover. This series of colored reproductions of watercolors held at Farnley Hall in Yorkshire was first published in parts (as here) and then as a bound volume. Original black card wrappers, upper wrappers blocked and lettered in gold, sewed as issued, yapped edges generally lightly frayed; a remarkably well-preserved, bright, clean set.
