With a printed paper label mounted to the back. Framed under glass. Viktor Ivanovich Zarubin, a Ukrainian-born Russian painter and scenographer, is famous for his landscapes with figures. He was admitted to the Imperial Academy of Arts and studied with Arkhip Kuindzhi. From 1897, he participated in the annual exhibitions there and, in 1898, was named an Artist, First Degree" for his painting The House of God.
