Provenance: The painting comes from the collection of Viktor Kholodkov, 1948 to 2015, who fulfilled his passion for books, avant grade design and paper memorabilia by devoting his life to collecting and dealing of prominent works of Russian graphic art of the first half of the 20th century. Solomon Samsonovich Boim was a Russian Soviet artist, graphic artist, watercolorist, teacher, and professor of painting at the Moscow Art School. He studied at Vkhutemas from Kupreyanov. Since 1929, he illustrated books published by Detgiz and other publishing houses, created works of easel graphics on historical and ideological topics that were relevant at that time.
