The set includes a pair of ceramic tea jars made in the technique of Moriage, hand painted with colored enamels, adorned with gilding and Geisha or Birds patterns. The set also includes a tall hand painted and gilded porcelain vase decorated with traditional floral, birds, and geometrical ornaments. Numbered 23 on the bottom. Circa: 20th century. The famous Japanese Satsuma porcelain was originally produced by Korean potters in the 16th century on the island of Kyushu. The hallmarks of antique Satsuma porcelain are the hue of the color of baked milk, images of craftsmen and artisans, as well as traditional Japanese landscapes in painting.
